What are your hours?
TechRestore is open Monday - Friday from 9am to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm. We’re open on “non-major” holidays. You can call, check our Google page or our Facebook page for more information. We’re located in the Hike’s Point Plaza shopping center at 4036 Taylorsville Rd in Louisville, KY (so Eastern Time zone).

What do you sell?
We are an Authorized Lenovo Partner and sell their complete catalog of solutions. We also sell Certified Restored Apple devices in store, protection essentials and accessories. Many of the devices we have for sale are listed on the “Products” tab and are typically 1-4 generations from the most current devices. We also have the best screen protector products, top of the line cases in many colors and styles, Mattias wireless keyboards, and even pro level audio and video accessories. If you’re looking for something specific, come by, call or email us. All of our products come with at least a 90 day warranty and extended warranties are available for purchase, too.

Who are you guys?

The short version is, we’re a team of repair experts with over 50 years combined experience in repair, sales, OS and iOS troubleshooting and customer care. We are obstacle destroyers, solution focused and customer oriented. Are all repairs done on site?
The majority of all repairs are done at our Louisville location by our own master techs. We do work with some trusted partners on repairs that require an extreme specialization. Their standards are as high as our own when it comes to protecting your data, treating your device with respect and exceeding expectations in turn around time. We even work directly with Apple, Lenovo and other manufactures if we find a device is still under their warranty! And we’ll facilitate it all for you, not send you off to chase down a solution yourself.

Are you Apple Authorized?
No. Our techs are Apple trained and hold multiple Apple Certifications with decades of experience. We specialize in “out of warranty” repairs, so our solutions are not confined to Apple Certified procedures allowing us to provide a far better experience with a warranty that exceeds Apples own.

Do I need an appointment?
NO! Stop by during regular business hours. Most repairs are done same or next business day. If your schedule requires an appointment to drop off, please call ahead and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Do I need to bring anything besides my machine?
It depends. If you are having trouble with an accessory (ie: power supply, monitor, bluetooth device, etc) then please include it when you bring or ship your device. If you have an Apple device, we have chargers, so if charging is not the issue, you don’t need to bring a charger (in fact, please don’t, we’d hate to mix it up with ours!). If you have a PC or Chromebook, we WILL need your charger no matter what. There are many makes and models of PC’s and Chromebook and there’s a different charger for just about every one (we’ll give it back). Still not sure? Contact us with the details and we will give our recommendation about what to include.

Do you only do hardware repairs?
No. In addition to hardware repairs and upgrades (screen repair, upgrading storage), we also offer software repairs (removing viruses and malware), software “tune-ups”, data recovery and secure recycling. We also offer training on using Apple systems to maximize their features.

Do you pay for shipping?
On laptop repairs we will cover UPS ground shipping back to you at no charge. If you need it faster, we do offer better than average UPS shipping rates. You can even purchase incoming shipping for your device from us for $19 - $58 depending on the speed you choose. There are exceptions, too. If you have multiple devices, we can combine shipping. If you manage a fleet of devices or you are an EDU customer, please contact us about our free shipping programs.

Do you provide recycling services?
Yes! TechRestore firmly believes in data security and the proper disposal of electronic waste and we provide a secure, reliable and comprehensive solution to meet your needs. Our processes are built on NAID (National Association of Information Destruction) principals ensuring your data is always secure and under surveillance. Beginning with an erasure standard NIST 800-88 to the final disposition of the downstream waste, you can rest assured TechRestore will protect your data and our environment. All of our standards meet and exceed local, state and federal regulations. In addition, Certificates of Destruction are available upon request. How long will I be without my device?
We do our best to minimize down-time. Many repairs can be done the same day (some in an hour or less!), otherwise, typically a couple days. More complex issues - like a difficult to reproduce/intermittent problem - may take longer, but we’ll be in touch all the way with updates and solutions for you.

What devices do you service?
All Apple devices, PCs and Chromebook. We also work on older “legacy” devices that manufactures have deemed not worthy. We have seen it all! If your device isn’t listed here, contact us!

Why do you need my passcode and/or password?
Electronics are complex. Some repairs and upgrades require admin permission to complete. In order to be sure we have addressed all the issues, not just the obvious ones, our techs need to be able to thoroughly test your device before (if possible) and after repair. In most cases, that will require unlocking it. We will NEVER access or share any of your information. We also know there are special circumstances in which you will not be allowed to give us the information needed to do this, and we will work with you if that is the case. This also decreases the chance of undetected issues and repeat visits to fix them. We want you to sing with joy when you get your device back!
